Han van Ieperen, a native of Rotterdam, has become known for figurative-expressionist landscapes, bouquets and still lifes. Between 1942 and 1946 he stayed in Epe, where he painted Veluwe landscapes, among other things. He then settled in The Hague. Van Ieperen received his training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam and was a member of Pulchri Studio in The Hague.
